Dota 2: Team Secret & PSG.LGD to Attend the Singapore World Pro Invitational

Two of the biggest Dota 2 teams will attend ONE Esport's first large-scale Dota 2 tournament in Singapore.

Around two months ago, ONE Esports announced its first big tournament in Singapore, organized alongside PGL. Called the One Dota 2 Singapore World Pro Invitational, the tournament will take place this year on December 20-22 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. This tournament is no joke as it will feature some of the best twelve teams from around the world. What’s more, there will be a whopping $500K USD prize pool. Apart from the Dota 2 tournament, ONE Esports will also host a Tekken event in Tokyo this October.

PSG.LGD

The first team to try their luck for the $500K USD prize pool is the Chinese powerhouse PSG.LGD. Lu “Maybe” Yao and his teammates are one of Dota's most stable teams over the last two years. They’ve constantly managed to get top finishes in all tournaments. What’s more, they almost made it to the Grand Final at this years’ TI again. However, Team Liquid proved to be a little bit too strong, even for the Chinese powerhouse.

Team Secret

Apart from PSG.LGD, we now know the name of the second team going to the tournament. Team Secret was the DPC champion prior to TI 9, which made them one of the heavy favorites there. Despite the fact that they didn't hoist the trophy, they still managed to secure their highest-ever finish. In the end, their run came to an end after meeting Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi and his team in the lower bracket.

After TI 9, there were rumors about potential roster change inside Secret's lineup. So far, however, they haven't materialized. Of course, there is still time left until the new DPC season starts, so it's possible there are more changes in the works for Secret.

Who Else is Attending the Singapore World Pro Invitational

ONE Esports still has ten more names to announce. Having said that, if we judge by the squads that are already here, we are definitely in for one pretty amazing tournament. We just need to wait a bit until the post-TI shuffle calms down. There are a lot of free agents and who knows what kind of lineups we are going to end up with.
