Dota 2: Vici Gaming Invited to ESL One Hamburg 2019

Vici is going to Hamburg for ESL One in October.

Despite the fact that the ESL events are not usually included in the DPC schedule, they still remain one of the most interesting tournaments to watch. The high prize pools and fan atmosphere makes ESL's tournaments a joy to watch. There is around one month left until fans get to see ESL One Hamburg 2019, and that’s why the organizers are slowly but steadily announcing the first directly-invited teams.

The Chinese giants are the first directly-invited team from the region. Of course, Vici was one of the strongest teams during the last DPC season. In fact, many people believed that they are also one of the main contenders for the TI trophy. Despite the fact that this did not happen, they still performed pretty well.

Recently, the organization was thrust into the spotlight after the controversy around Pan “Fade” Yi. In the end, he left Vici to join Team Aster, which resulted in the team's acquisition of Xiong “Pyw” Jiahan.

Directly invited teams prior to Vici

The first directly invited team was actually Virtus.Pro. In fact, this happened a couple of days before TI 9. Even though the CIS powerhouse is still having trouble with their roster, they have not canceled their participation yet, which means that we will probably have some information about their roster soon enough.

Apart from VP, TNC Predators are the second team going to Hamburg. This will be one of the first tournaments for their new roster after Carlo “Kuku” Palad left.

ESL One Hamburg will take place on the last week of October. In addition to the directly invited teams, there will also be four regional qualifiers – SEA, China, North America and Europe. What’s more, there is one extra team that managed to secure their ticket here – Gambit Esports. The CIS squad recently won an online tournament called GG. Bet Invitational, which gave them the ticket for the bigger event.

As always, ESL One Hamburg 2019 will have an amazing $300K USD prize pool. If you wish to watch the event live, Barclaycard Arena is the place to be.
