CS:GO: Heroic Signs TeSeS

The former OpTic rifler goes Heroic.

Heroic has announced the signing of René “TeSeS” Madsen to their CS:GO roster. The 19-year-old comes into the team just a few days after Heroic’s benching of soon-to-be Astralis sixth Patrick “es3tag” Hansen and in-game leader Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer. The lineup now stands at four, needing one more player for a full team.

René “TeSeS” Madsen gained some notoriety in 2019 when standing in for OpTic Gaming. Playing alongside names like Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke and Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen, TeSeS won DreamHack Open Summer 2019 and the GG.BET New York Invitational. The latter victory earned OpTic a spot in ESL One New York 2019, where they finished 5-6th after securing an upset win over FaZe Clan.

Replacing Heroes

TeSeS takes up the Heroic name after Patrick “es3tag” Hansen and Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer were benched, the former planning a transfer to Danish powerhouse Astralis after his contract expires this summer. During their time on the active roster, Heroic won DreamHack Open Atlanta 2019. They also placed 3-4th at both EPICENTER 2019 and DreamHack Open Leipzig 2020. The Heroic roster was set to transfer to FunPlus Phoenix with the start of Flashpoint Season 1, though the deal was cut short after Astralis revealed their signing of es3tag last month. The team then returned to the Heroic organization.

Heroic still lacks a fifth man, though recent rumors point towards former TeSeS teammate Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen to fill the vacancy. TeSeS looks to make his Heroic debut in the LOOT.BET Season 6 play-offs later this month.
